Global Risk Development Summer Analyst Program Overview Global Risk internships are 10 weeks long and give interns a glimpse into the company’s relationships with key regulators as well as how the bank identifies, mitigates, and evaluates risk factors. The Global Risk Development Summer Analyst Program will introduce interns to Bank of America and the Global Risk Management (GRM) group. GRM is an enterprise control function that provides independent risk management for the bank. Its role is to ensure the company pursues its Responsible Growth strategy through strong risk‑management practices while deploying capital appropriately to support business activities and maximize shareholder value. GRM oversees governance and strategy for risk management, including relationships with key regulators and supervisory institutions worldwide. As a Summer Analyst, interns receive a curriculum that focuses on the management of seven types of risk – strategic, market, credit, compliance, liquidity, operational, and reputational – to build a strong platform for launching a career. Market – Risk that changes in market conditions adversely impact the value of assets or liabilities or otherwise negatively impact earnings. Market risk includes price risk and interest‑rate risk. Credit – Risk of loss arising from the inability or failure of a borrower or counterparty to meet its obligations. Compliance – Risk of legal or regulatory sanctions, material financial loss, or reputational damage arising when the company fails to comply with applicable laws, rules, regulations, or internal policies and procedures. Liquidity – Risk of the inability to meet expected or unexpected cash flow and collateral needs while supporting businesses and customers under varying economic conditions. Operational – Risk of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, systems, people, or external events. Reputational – Risk that negative perception of the company may adversely impact profitability or operations. Intern team assignments are developed based on business need and skill set; they cannot be guaranteed. Qualifications Candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or accelerated (4+1) degree program from an accredited college or university, with a final graduation date between November 2027 and August 2028. GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred. Common areas of study include Risk Management, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Accounting, Public Policy, Economics, Compliance, Business Administration, Political Science/Legal, Mathematics, Data Science, and related fields. Candidates should possess intellectual curiosity, a drive for operational excellence, a commitment to sustainable results, strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office, and proficiency in leadership, teamwork, problem solving, analytical skills, verbal and written communication, and professionalism.
