We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Sous Chef to support the daily culinary operations within our premium airport lounge. This role is responsible for assisting in the preparation of fresh, high-quality food on-site while ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance with brand and food safety standards. The Sous Chef will play a key role in supporting the Chef, while also coaching and guiding team members, including those without formal kitchen experience, to deliver a consistent and elevated guest experience. The expected pay rate is $75,000.00/yr. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Chef in the day-to-day kitchen operations, including prep, service, and closing
- Prepare and present high-quality food in accordance with company standards and menus
- Ensure consistent execution of composed dishes
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
- Assist in inventory management, ordering, and cost control initiatives
- Train, coach, and support lounge team members, including non-culinary staff, to ensure proper food handling and execution
- Provide clear guidance and simplified processes to support team members with varying levels of experience
- Step in to lead kitchen operations in the absence of the Chef
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Line Cook in a high-volume environment (airport lounge, hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or airport experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Demonstrated ability to train and mentor team members, including those without prior kitchen experience
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
