We are a premier, upscale New American restaurant located in Cambridge, MA. We are dedicated to delivering an exceptional dining experience through innovative menus, high-quality ingredients, and flawless execution. We are currently seeking a results-driven Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team and contribute to our venue's overall success.
The Role
As our Sous Chef, you will partner directly with the Executive Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations. This role goes beyond basic kitchen supervision. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional who balances operational efficiency with a genuine passion for culinary excellence and the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the comprehensive management of daily kitchen operations and staff scheduling.
- Ensure all dishes are executed to our strict standards of quality, flavor, and presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage supplier relationships, and maintain optimal food costs.
- Train, mentor, and develop line cooks to build a strong and cohesive culinary team.
- Maintain a pristine kitchen environment that strictly adheres to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced upscale dining environment.
- Deep knowledge of New American cuisine and modern culinary techniques.
- Adept at utilizing operational reports to identify trends, reduce waste, and improve profitability.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on relationship-building and team success.
