The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of individual returns, federal and state tax laws, as well as experience preparing corporate tax returns. This position offers the opportunity to work with high net worth clients and handle complex tax scenarios. The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for providing tax planning services and ensuring compliance with state and local tax laws. Responsibilities

1. Prepare and review complex federal and state income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
2. Provide tax planning and consulting to high net worth clients.
3. Research and analyze changes in tax legislation and interpret tax laws.
4. Assist in federal, state, and local audits by preparing responses and defending tax positions.
5. Manage client relationships, communicate effectively with clients to provide superior client service.
6. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely tax returns.
7. Provide guidance and support to junior staff, fostering an environment of learning and growth.
8. Ensure compliance with state and local tax laws and regulations.
9. Develop tax strategies to assist clients in being tax‑compliant and tax‑efficient.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a public accounting firm with a focus on taxation.
4. Extensive experience with federal and state tax, state and local tax, corporate tax returns, tax returns, S Corp, and 1040s.
5. Proven track record of managing a portfolio of high net worth clients.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax information in a clear and concise manner.
7. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
8. Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. Detail‑oriented with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
