Job Summary

At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered. 

Responsible for supervising, directing and coordinating the daily work for maintenance personnel in the inspection, repair and rebuilding of mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and controls and their associated structures. Ensures that industrial and radiation safety requirements are followed. Plans work schedule to accomplished required maintenance and, when required, assigns priorities.

Job Responsibilities

• Administers the functions of the Union Agreement and enforces Company policies for the Maintenance section, including any disciplinary actions.
• Interfaces with site work groups and outside contractors to alleviate problems in the field.
• Maintains a properly trained work force to ensure that procedures and safety rules are followed and compliance to ALARA resulting in minimal radiation exposure to employees.
• May plan, prepare and revise power plant work packages as needed.
• Routinely performs as contract administrator, including reviewing the approving invoices and processing payment.
• Supervises primarily represented personnel and/or activities during outage and non-outage times to meet established scheduled and objectives in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Specific Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent GED
• Four years experience in the craft or discipline supervised
• Willing to work overtime, shift work and accept callouts as required.
• Pass all phases of InProcessing including a background investigation, psychological screening, appropriate training and be medically certifiable drug and alcohol screen.
• Makes decisions systematically, can make decisions under pressure, builds a consensus, can make difficult/unpopular decisions, considers impact of decisions.
• Cognizant of all plant safety procedures and regulations.
• Exhibits confidence in self and others; Inspires and motivates others to perform well; Effectively influences actions and opinions of others; Accepts feedback from others; Gives appropriate recognition to others.
• Communicates well both verbally and in writing, crates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.
• Meet regulatory and training requirements per PSEG procedures.
• Must meet nuclear requirements for Unescorted Site Access.
• Pass a First Line Supervisor‘s Test (FLST) unless presently and directly supervising PSEG (i.e. responsible for performance review) blue collar, operating department/ represented associates for a minimum of 12 continuous months. For those who have previously taken and received an acceptable score on the FLST but who are not presently and directly supervising represented associates, test results will be valid for a maximum period of two years from the date the test was taken. Acceptable test results exceeding the two year period (for those applicants not presently and directly supervising represented associates) cannot be used in bidding on or applying for a first line supervisory position for which the test was validated.
• A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (see is required for this position by May 7, 2027.
