Position Title 4445-Instructional Designer, Training Curriculum Dev Contract Details Location: Livermore, CA Contract Duration: 6 months Pay Rate: $70 Eligibility Requirements Clear background check Drug test Education check Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship Principal only – no corp‑to‑corp engagement Location & Travel Must be located in the territory Monthly to quarterly travel to SF, Livermore, San Ramon, Oakland, or Daly City Occasional overnight stays for client meetings and project milestones Top Things Looking For Experience with technical training (Instructor‑Led, not e‑learning) Proficiency with MS Office tools (e.g., PowerPoint) Experience creating job aids and technical writing Top Skill Sets Looking For Excellent communication, writing, and time‑management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong stakeholder engagement Self‑motivated and adaptable Responsibilities Design and develop instructor‑led and on‑the‑job training for apprenticeships in the utilities industry Leverage and apply established instructional design methodologies to assess stakeholder needs, analyze complex content, and evaluate delivered training Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands‑on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, videos, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed Partner with cross‑functional teams to conceptualize training design and content Define learning objectives and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and learning environment constraints Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates Write clear and effective instructional text, audio, or video scripts appropriate for the target audience Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, and train‑the‑trainer sessions Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation Receive and incorporate feedback Self‑manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables Proactively communicate issues and risks Required Skills 3+ years’ experience developing instructor‑led training and on‑the‑job tasks for technical skills Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies Proven experience performing task analysis Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver against multiple competing deadlines as needed Desired Skills Experience developing multi‑year technical training programs for adult learners Experience with QuestionMark, Author‑It, and/or Storyline Academy experience a plus Key Competencies Excellent analysis skills Strategic thinking and time management Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong communication and stakeholder engagement Attention to detail and commitment to quality Self‑motivated and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment We encourage minorities, women, protected veterans and disabled individuals to apply for all positions that they may be qualified for.
