Senior Copywriter

HYBRID SCHEDULE: This hybrid role will report to the Bed Quarters location in Houston, TX 1-4 times each month and may work remotely the remainder of the month. Job Details The HYBRID Senior Copywriter is responsible for crafting compelling, on-brand copy that contributes to breakthrough, attention-grabbing advertising and promotions. In this role, you’ll collaborate with designers, a cross-functional marketing team, and the Copy Director to bring strategic initiatives and brand concepts to life. This involves generating fresh ideas that support the brand strategy, leading collaborative brainstorms, and translating complex challenges into simple creative solutions, all while injecting a consistent voice and personality across a wide range of channels, including web, paid and organic social, email, video, and more. NOTE: All applicants must provide a portfolio featuring marketing and/or advertising work and copywriting samples for consideration. Essential Responsibilities Be a strategically creative leader: From simple projects to big-idea concepts, contribute exceptional thoughts and engaging ways to bring them to life Be a master of short and long-form copywriting: This ranges from informative, punchy product descriptions and headlines to naming sales and generating thumb-stopping email and social content Write and edit accurate, concise copy that is engaging to read, easy to understand and compels customers to action Review and proofread content and recommend improvements (content clarity, brevity, calls to action and streamlined online navigation) Adhere to brand voice and develop and execute brand on all channels Work with the design and marketing team to address challenges in displaying and integrating content within the look and feel of digital and print marketing Exhibit expert knowledge on the many brands and products found in-store and on our site Ask the necessary, insightful questions to make sure that projects are succinct and executed properly the first time Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts and persuasively present work to leadership team Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and Company operations Non-Essential Responsibilities Execute Company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities Contributes ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company Education High School diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Journalism, Strategic Communication, English or related major preferred Professional Experience 3+ Years experience of copywriting across all media required Video and social writing experience preferred Skills List Adapts to new situations, changes, and shifts strategies to meet different types of challenges Possesses a masterful grasp of the English language Organizes and plans time between specific activities Pays close attention to all of the small particulars when working on a task or project Adept at forming structures, patterns and connections from information, ideas, and images; consistently seeks out inspiration Skillful in compiling, organizing, and using data to enhance planning and effectiveness Ability to juggle multiple projects at a time Possesses the agility to easily transfer from project to project, and from medium to medium Ability to invent and develop original ideas and turn new and imaginative ideas into reality Skilled in initiating, structuring and carrying out steps to complete projects and tasks Ability to speak in a group setting with both confidence and kindness Ability to read and interpret complex ideas or product information into easy-to-read copy Ability to articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively using written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills Collaborates with others to constructively resolve problems and holds themselves and others responsible for outcomes Competencies & Knowledge Microsoft Office Products Brand Strategy Insight: Deep understanding of how design integrates with overall brand strategy, including awareness of the target audience and market positioning. Industry Trends and Standards: Keeping abreast of evolving design trends, consumer preferences, and industry standards to ensure the company’s design output is current and competitive. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
