Medical Surgical Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Medical Surgical Nurse to join our team. This role will primarily involve working with GYN patients, as well as some bariatric and ENT post-operative cases. The successful candidate will be prepared to handle a variety of surgical patients and adapt to changing clinical needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a medical-surgical setting.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical nursing role.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to various patient conditions and assignments.

Work Environment

The unit consists of 6 beds and the nurse-to-patient ratio varies based on census, ranging from 1:3 to 1:6.

Weekend and Holiday Requirements

• Availability to work every other weekend.
• Must be available to work on holidays as needed.
