Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Armed Presence in Queens, NY , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with flexibility for you to earn more by picking up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $35.70 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeSun07:00 AM - 03:00 PM How This Role Works: Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities: Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a public transportation location. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including coordinating with site contacts and public sector partners when appropriate. Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout stations, platforms, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations. Monitor access points and sensitive areas, observe for unusual behavior or suspicious items, and report security‑related concerns according to post orders and location protocols. Prepare clear, accurate documentation of incidents, patrol activity, and/or observations, and communicate relevant information to supervisors, dispatch, and/or authorized personnel. Minimum Requirements: Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED. Possess a law enforcement officer license. An armed guard card or license is preferred. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry‑specific security training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
