Press/Machine Operator
Germantown Tool & Manufacturing is seeking a Press Operator to join our dynamic team. If you are looking for a company with dedication to excellence, then this is the opportunity for you.
Position Responsibilities
- Operating the Stamping Press: Operating the machine to shape materials according to work orders and specifications.
- Setting up the Press: Preparing the machine for production runs by loading materials, adjusting dies, and setting parameters.
- Quality Control: Performing checks during and after production to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Material Handling: Loading and unloading materials, potentially including heavy items.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and reporting machine malfunctions or issues.
- Maintaining Clean Workspace: Keeping the work area clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Following Safety Procedures: Adhering to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of how machinery works and the ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Problem-solving Skills: Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues that may arise during production.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of the job, particularly in quality control.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move materials (up to 50 pounds), and stand for extended periods.
- Safety Awareness: Understanding and adhering to all safety procedures.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: A basic educational foundation is often required.
- Relevant Experience: Previous experience operating stamping presses or related machinery is often preferred.
