Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice

Registered Nurse – Hospice

Schedule:

- Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

- Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Assignment Details:

- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

- Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements:

- Current RN license (Compact or state license)

- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in hospice, palliative care, critical care, or med-surg

- Experience working in a unionized healthcare environment (for RNs)

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to terminally ill patients, focusing on comfort and symptom management.

- Administer medications and interventions as per physician orders.

- Assess patient needs continuously to ensure a dignified and comfortable end-of-life experience.

- Provide guidance and oversight to non-unionized CNAs to ensure quality personal care and adherence to care plans.

- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to contribute to care planning and family education.

- Provide emotional support and education to families and caregivers navigating end-of-life care.
