Location: South Bay, Los Angeles (Harbor Gateway)
Schedule: Full-time, onsite
Compensation: $160,000–$190,000 annually (DOE)
Our client is a privately held, multi-state operator with 2,000+ employees nationwide operating within the information security and technology space. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated attorney looking to grow their in-house career and work closely with executive leadership and the General Counsel.
This role is ideal for a proactive, solutions-oriented legal professional who wants to gain broad in-house experience and make a meaningful impact in a growing organization.
Position OverviewThe In-House Counsel (Associate) will support the General Counsel in managing employment law, labor compliance, and day-to-day legal matters across a multi-state workforce. This role will partner closely with the HR team to ensure the company operates in compliance with applicable employment laws and best practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesEmployment Law & HR Partnership- Provide legal guidance on California employment law and multi-state labor compliance
- Partner closely with HR on employee relations, policies, and workplace matters
- Advise on discipline, investigations, terminations, and risk mitigation
- Review and support development of HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Help ensure the organization operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Assist with internal legal research and risk assessment
- Support development of internal legal processes and documentation
- Assist the General Counsel in managing outside counsel
- Support litigation, claims, and dispute resolution as needed
- Assist with contract review and other corporate legal matters as assigned
Required
- Licensed attorney in good standing
- Strong experience with California employment law
- Experience advising HR or leadership on employment-related matters
- Excellent research, communication, and problem-solving skills
