Position Description

The Accounting Specialist plays an important role to the overall success of QuesTec. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for assisting with all accounting-related duties of a busy, successful mechanical HVAC/R company. Speed and accuracy are of utmost importance in this role. The Accounting Specialist will perform the required responsibilities with a positive attitude and be willing to grow his/her knowledge base.

PRIMARY DUTIES

- ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

• Audit, close and invoice work orders

• Distribute invoices to customers in the appropriate manner

• Maintain and reconcile third-party portals in regard to AR

• Maintain and reconcile AR reports

• Verify customer accounts by reconciling and distributing monthly statements

• Communicate with customers to reconcile issues

-ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

• Responsible for entering all AP invoices

• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions

• Reconciles monthly bank accounts and credit card statements

• Communicate with vendors to reconcile issues

-Assists on End of the Month closings

-Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual taxes owed

-Performs general data entry related to the accounting function

-Accepts guidance and exhibits a willingness to communicate positively with all QuesTec employees

SECONDARY DUTIES

• Maintains various licenses related to the Company and projects

• Troubleshoot AR, AP, and job costing questions

• Cash Management as needed

• Suggests ways to reduce costs, enhance revenues and improve profits

• Provide Back-up to Dispatcher: Maintain awareness of field activities, dispatching practices and field personnel

• Providing general customer service assistance

• Answering phones

• Answering inquiries

• Preparing related communications to office or field personnel

• Other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment for the Accounting Specialist is that of an average office setting, the noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.

Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Four years accounting or bookkeeping experience

• Proficient with technology and basic computer software programs

• Proficient on Excel

• High degree of accuracy and detail orientation

EDUCATIONAL, LICENSING and CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of a high school diploma; bachelor's degree in accounting preferred

• Valid social security number

ANALYTICAL REQUIREMENTS

• High degree of organization and ability to prioritize multiple, simultaneous projects.

• Ability to understand and consistently apply mid-level accounting skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands of this position are moderately sedentary in nature.

• Ability to withstand long periods of sitting or standing (stationary positions up to 50% of time)

• Ability to feel, grasp, operate and position items with fingers and hands; may require extensive keyboarding work at

times
