Director, Health System Optimization

Abbott seeks a Director of Health System Optimization to lead clinical and scientific professionals in helping healthcare systems enhance infectious disease diagnostic testing and patient care. This strategic role combines healthcare expertise, team leadership, and scientific knowledge to partner with hospitals and health systems on workflow optimization and diagnostic solution adoption.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Clinical Solutions Managers and Scientific Liaisons
- Partner with hospitals and health systems to assess workflows and identify clinical and operational challenges
- Design and recommend workflow optimization strategies using point-of-care and infectious disease diagnostic solutions
- Serve as trusted advisor to clinical, operational, executive, and procurement leaders on diagnostic adoption
- Provide scientific and clinical expertise on infectious disease diagnostics and healthcare delivery trends
Requirements
- Advanced clinical degree: MD, PharmD, or PhD in life science or healthcare discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience in hospital or health system environments
- Minimum 3 years of leadership or managerial experience in healthcare organizations
- Demonstrated experience with healthcare operations, care delivery models, and workflow optimization
- Minimum 2 years in medical device, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry
- Minimum 2 years as Medical Science Liaison, Scientific Affairs, or equivalent field-based scientific role
- Strong understanding of infectious disease management and diagnostic testing pathways
