About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Matthews, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 or 48 hours per week available

Highlights:

• 40-bed Medical-Surgical unit with emphasis in Bariatrics and Orthopedics
• Patient ratios of 1:5-7 with daily census of 39 patients
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
• Contract length: 16+ weeks available through February 27, 2027
• Weekend requirement: 2-3 weekends per 6-week schedule block
• 36-hour orientation with availability required during first week for hospital orientation

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• Active North Carolina or Compact nursing license
• Required certifications: BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale, IV Start, Telemetry interpretation
• Preferred certification: ACLS
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Must maintain hand hygiene compliance of 75% or higher
• Willingness to float within facility as needed
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Clinical Skills:

• Blood product administration
• Central and peripheral line care/management
• Interpretation of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Non-invasive airway management
• Use of Rapid Response and Code teams

Patient Population:

• Adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Medical-Surgical diagnoses with specialty focus on Bariatric and Orthopedic cases
