Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift

Maintenance TechnicianPerform duties to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment, building facilities and grounds. This is including, but not limited to HVAC, boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration systems, blenders, processing and packaging equipment.Primary ResponsibilitiesEnsures operation of plant machinery utilizing both electrical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipmentCompletes preventive/predicative maintenance proceduresEnsures duties of the position are performed in a safe, efficient and effective mannerControls downtime by completing needed repairs and part replacements in a timely fashionFabricates repair parts by machining items to specifications as necessaryProvides mechanical maintenance information by informing production workers of routine techniques, answering questions, and responding to requestsMaintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and updating certified skill levelsMaintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulationsContributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and neededRequirementsHigh school graduate or equivalentAble to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staffMinimum three to five years related maintenance experienceBroad knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, AC drives, VFDs and PLCsProficient electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skillsValid state driver's licenseAble to work overtime and weekends as neededPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferredBilingual preferredPhysical RequirementsAble to lift in excess of 40 pounds dailyAble to tolerate extreme temperaturesAble to operate variety of hand and power tools on a frequent, daily basisAble to occasionally climb, crouch, kneel and crawl to service variety of equipmentThis is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period.
