Director, Red Team

Cencora seeks a Director of Red Team to lead offensive security operations and manage internal red team activities. This senior cybersecurity role oversees adversary simulations, vendor engagements, and security assessments across complex enterprise environments, requiring both technical expertise and strategic leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and mature red team strategy aligned with business risks and security posture objectives
• Establish rules of engagement, standard operating procedures, and safety controls for adversary simulations
• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing red team engineers and offensive security operators
• Manage third-party offensive security provider engagements and validate quality of findings
• Partner with detection operations, threat intelligence, and security engineering to improve controls

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years progressive cybersecurity experience with 6+ years in offensive security roles
• 3+ years leading offensive security teams at enterprise scale
• Demonstrated experience planning and executing full-scope red team operations
• Strong knowledge of adversary tradecraft, EDR, identity protection, and cloud logging detection surfaces
• Proficiency with MITRE ATT&CK framework and threat intelligence translation to emulation plans
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executive briefings and stakeholder engagement
