Tax Director

Tax DirectorLocation: Covington, LAA long-established, nationally ranked regional CPA firm in the Southeast is seeking a Tax Director for its tax practice to lead client engagements, tax planning and review.Supervise client work to ensure delivery within time, scope and budgetManage engagement and client expectations and lead client meetingsAssess issue materiality and client risk tolerance; present ideas that lead to additional servicesResearch and review work papers for book-to-tax differences and apply tax law to client circumstancesApply tax planning concepts and identify savings and risk-reduction opportunitiesReview research findings, returns and work papers for consistency with firm policy and professional standards (AICPA ethics, Circular 230, §6694)Pursue business development through new and existing contactsUndergraduate degree required; Master's preferredCPA required9+ years of tax experienceComprehensive understanding of tax code and rulesExperience preparing returns and researching complex tax issuesStrong interpersonal and analytical skillsOn-the-job and industry-specific training, plus technology training each yearEmphasis on healthy work/life balance with competitive compensation and benefits
