Development Manager

Company Description CASA of Southwest Missouri is a nonprofit organization that provides trained volunteers to advocate in court for the best interests of abused and neglected children. Volunteers are community members from diverse backgrounds, including working professionals, students, and retirees, who commit to making a meaningful difference in a child’s life. Most volunteers focus on one case at a time, allowing them to build strong, supportive relationships and provide consistent advocacy. No prior legal experience is required, though volunteers must meet basic age and education requirements and complete training to prepare for their role. Role Description The Development Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in Springfield, MO, responsible for planning and executing fundraising and development strategies to support CASA of Southwest Missouri’s mission. This role includes managing donor relations, overseeing annual giving campaigns, coordinating special events, and identifying new funding opportunities through grants, corporate partnerships, and individual giving. The Development Manager will create and maintain development plans and calendars, prepare reports and presentations for leadership, and collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure consistent messaging and strong community engagement. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate donor records, monitoring budgets related to development activities, and representing CASA at community meetings, presentations, and outreach events. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit advancement, including donor cultivation and stewardship. Skills in event planning, project management, and organizing campaigns or initiatives. Strong written and verbal communication abilities for outreach, proposals, donor correspondence, and public speaking. Comfort with data management, CRM or donor databases, and basic budgeting and reporting. Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, community partners, volunteers, and staff. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with standard office software and online communication tools; experience with fundraising platforms is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, Social Work, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
