Medical AssistantIn this role, you will:Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recordingCollect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic testsRecord patients' vital signsPrepare patients for examinationsSterilize medical equipment and instrumentsAssist providers and other support staff in the data entry processAssist physicians during visits with examinations and all office proceduresPerform EKGs and point-of-care testingOther duties as assignedWe require:A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School DiplomaProficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred)Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reachingKnowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluidsMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at timesReliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needsWhat we offer:Salary: Starting at $22 per hourBenefits: Including health insurance from Day 1, dental and vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401k, PTO, 8 paid holidays (including 2 floating holidays), and more.
