Quick Facts Location: Dominican Hospital, 1555 Soquel Drive, Santa Cruz, CA 95065 Start Date: 06/04/2026 Duration: 6 months (possible extension) Shift: 24-hour in-house call (7:30 AM – 7:30 AM) Hours/Week: Varies (6-8 shifts/month) Employment Type: Locum/Temporary Licenses/Certifications: Active California medical license, DEA, BLS, and ACLS (required) Experience: Recent OB hospitalist experience, preferably with laborist background Pay & Benefits Pay Package: Generous hourly rates, including orientation and holiday pay (rates included in internal rates) Weekly Pay Schedule: Via direct deposit Medical Benefits: Comprehensive medical coverage (W-2) Additional Benefits: Paid sick time, licensure/Certification and travel reimbursements when applicable Referral Bonus: Robust program rewarding successful referrals Support Staff: 24/7 anesthesia coverage, ultrasonographer and strong partnerships with Stanford for neonatology What You’ll Do Provide inpatient OB/GYN care during 24-hour in-house call shifts Assist with approximately 60-70 deliveries per month, including assisting C-sections Monitor and manage labor using Pitocin and other medications Respond to urgent obstetric and gynecologic cases, collaborating with GYN surgeons as needed Support neonatal care in partnership with Level III NICU clinicians Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for patient management Maintain documentation using Cerner EMR system and ensure compliance with hospital protocols What You Need Required: Active California medical license with hospital privileges or pending Recent experience in OB hospitalist or laborist roles Ability to perform vaginal deliveries and assist with C-sections Current CPR, BLS, and ACLS certifications Strong communication skills, preferably bilingual in English and Spanish Preferred: Recent laborist experience training Local candidates from the greater Bay Area Ability to start in July and commit for 6 months or more About the Assignment This assignment provides locum OB/GYN coverage at a reputable hospital in Santa Cruz, CA, serving primarily low-risk, underserved populations.
