Journeyman Electrician – Lead Field Operations and Estimating

Job Overview:

• Salary/Pay Rate: $38.00 – $42.00 per hour (Plus performance bonus)
• Location: Columbia, MO
• Job/Employment Type: Full Time
• Schedule: Monday – Friday (Flexibility for site walks, customer meetings, and emergency calls)
• Project Scope: Residential & Commercial Estimating, Service Upgrades, and Field Installations
• Mandatory Licences & Certifications: Active Journeyman Electrician License (Columbia/Boone County)

The Opportunity :

You will drive both technical excellence and business growth by estimating project scopes, leading field crews, and managing key commercial client relationships. This role gives you the opportunity to blend your trade expertise with business leadership while remaining hands-on in the field. You will directly impact job profitability and team success as a core operational lead.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Conduct daily site walks to gather job requirements, then build and send comprehensive formal bids using HouseCall Pro.
• Lead, schedule, and mentor field technicians across residential service work and large commercial projects.
• Price a diverse mix of projects including panel upgrades, EV chargers, tenant finishes, and large LED retrofits up to $80K+.
• Oversee on-site safety, ensure strict code compliance, and coordinate all municipal permits and inspections.
• Manage commercial account relationships with general contractors, property managers, and national facility partners.
• Work directly alongside your crew in the field to execute service calls and oversee complex system installations.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Journeyman Electrician license valid in Columbia/Boone County.
• 8+ years of combined electrical experience across residential and commercial environments.
• 3+ years of experience independently building project estimates from site walk to final bid submission.
• 2+ years of experience in crew leadership, supervising field operations, or managing job sites.
• Deep knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local permitting processes, and site safety standards.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Master Electrician license.
• Direct experience partnering with general contractors, property management firms, and national facility managers.
• Proficiency using HouseCall Pro or similar field service management platforms along with Google Suite.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive hourly pay rate of $38.00 – $42.00 per hour, paid weekly.
