Underwriting Specialist

We are currently growing our team in Sandy Springs, Georgia. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced underwriters who have pioneered leading property and casualty solutions for America’s burgeoning cannabis industry. To excel in this job, you must be comfortable working with a moderate level of ambiguity while finding solutions to new problems. This in-office entry-level position will be responsible for underwriting administrative needs and helping to build both our brand and organization. Risk Management and Insurance majors preferred, but all degrees are welcome. Insurance experience is also preferred but not required for this position. In this position you will: Review applications and perform initial underwriting for cannabis accounts Identifying and gathering relevant account information for new business and renewal policy activity Participate with Underwriters in the renewal and new business activities that support marketing and underwriting decisions that are consistent with growth and retention goals. Process endorsements, policy changes, and account renewals Assess clients’ current insurance placements for strengths and deficiencies Work directly with specialized insurance brokers to develop business relationships Scheduling inspections and monitoring for compliance with recommendations Manage account Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree (Risk Management & Insurance degree preferred) Highly self-motivated, detail oriented and able to work effectively in an early stage, high growth Willingness to learn quickly in a constantly-evolving environment Strong math and analytical skills with an emphasis on problem-solving Proficient with Microsoft Office and G-Suite products Commercial property & casualty experience helpful but not required Property & Casualty License Required after 2 months of employment What We Offer: We're proud to offer a competitive salary, PTO & paid holidays, 401(k) with match, exclusive discount programs, health & wellness programs, and more. The base salary range for this position is $46,000 to $75,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
