Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all plant operations, including production management, supply chain coordination, quality control, and maintenance activities.
• Oversee manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production, consistent output, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across departments by analyzing operational data, including KPI performance, and identifying opportunities for enhancement.
• Leverage Excel and supply chain analytics to support strategic decision-making and improve material flow, inventory management, and resource utilization.
• Establish, monitor, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to track plant performance and support business growth objectives.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
• Oversee raw material usage and quality control processes to ensure products meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and enforce SOPs and best practices to standardize operations and improve consistency across the plant.
• Support line changes and engage in hands-on activities as needed while maintaining a strong focus on management responsibilities and performance metrics.
• Promote a culture of innovation by encouraging new ideas and continuous improvement from team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align plant operations with broader business goals and profitability targets.
• Provide clear direction, coaching, and support to plant staff to build a high-performing, safety-conscious, and quality-driven team.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in managing manufacturing operations within a plant environment, ideally in chemical manufacturing.
• Strong continuous improvement mindset with hands-on experience implementing lean manufacturing principles.
• Practical knowledge and application of Six Sigma methodologies to improve processes and reduce waste.
• Demonstrated ability to define, track, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for plant performance.
• Solid management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse operational teams.
• Experience with safety management and maintaining compliance with safety regulations and environmental policies.
• Experience in manufacturing processes, raw materials handling, and quality control procedures.
• Ability to develop, implement, and manage standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent operations.
• Proficiency in using Excel to analyze operational and supply chain data for decision-making.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational excellence and business growth.

• Any formal training or certification in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus.

Work Environment

This role is based in a chemical manufacturing facility that operates on a Monday through Thursday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The environment combines hands-on production support with strategic management responsibilities, including overseeing line changes and monitoring KPIs tied to business growth. The plant emphasizes strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies, creating a structured and safety-focused workplace. New ideas are highly welcomed, and the culture supports collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation in day-to-day operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Cleveland, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90,000.00 - $130,000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

40 hours PTO year 1, 80 hours year 2, 100 hours year 3 and so on 401k with 6% match of 100% contribution no medical benefits but will help match month payment of benefits as stipend.
