Business Development Manager

The Regional Economic Development Initiative (REDI) Cincinnati is the first point-of-contact for any company looking to locate to or expand within the 15-county Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) of southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana, otherwise referred to as the Cincinnati region. SUMMARY:

The Manager, Business Development, is responsible for executing REDI Cincinnati’s business attraction and expansion strategy within assigned industry sectors to help drive job creation and capital investment in the region. Reporting to the Vice President, Business Development, this role identifies and cultivates leads, supports outbound and inbound business development activity, and supports domestic missions. This person manages REDI’s CRM records for assigned industries, develops performance metrics and collaborates with the Project Management, Research and Marketing & Communications teams to advance company and consultant opportunities. This position represents REDI at regional and national events and supports efforts to strengthen partnerships with investors, state officials and economic development partners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Manage an assigned industry portfolio within REDI’s target industries, identifying new prospects, developing leads and advancing active opportunities to project status. Support the implementation of REDI Cincinnati’s business attraction and expansion strategies by assisting the Business Development team in managing ongoing projects, preparing meeting materials and contributing to the development of responses for RFIs and related business opportunities. Provide responsive, on-demand support to the Business Development team for active opportunities, including scheduling, document preparation and coordination of partner communications. Support planning and coordination of domestic business development missions, including logistics, investor communication and post-travel reporting. Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in CRM, ensuring all leads, opportunities and company interactions are entered correctly to support performance tracking and reporting. Assist in compiling activity reports and summaries for the Business Development team, REDI leadership and JobsOhio as part of quarterly and annual reporting processes. Track and analyze key performance indicators for assigned sectors; prepare data summaries and contribute to JobsOhio and REDI reporting. Partner with the Project Management, Research and Marketing & Communications teams to align data, messaging and outreach materials to support lead advancement and conversion. Represent REDI Cincinnati at conferences, meetings and partner events to build relationships with site consultants, companies and local and state economic development partners. Recommend enhancements to lead generation/management, travel planning and reporting processes to improve efficiency and stakeholder communication.

WORK ENVIORNMENT

This position is based in downtown Cincinnati and requires in-office work Monday through Thursday. The role may also require occasional off-campus meetings, community engagements, and evening events as needed.
