Medical ReceptionistThe Medical Receptionist position is responsible for greeting and registering patients, as well as administrative tasks and procedures that support an exceptional patient experience. This role offers the opportunity to see how an urgent care operates and work alongside a team of dedicated healthcare providers. This position is ideal for those who wish to pursue a career in health care. This is a fast-paced role that calls for the ability to multitask, think on your feet and work independently. We are looking for someone who is patient focused, empathetic and positive. This role is critical to the entire patient experience. We are looking for someone with availability and flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and some holidays.What You'll DoBe the first and last interaction with our patientsGreeting patients and acting as a resourceSchedule patients through different modalitiesIntroduce the Carbon app to patientsVerify insurance and collect copaymentsAdministrative work such as writing referrals and preparing lab paperworkWork collaboratively on projects with clinical leadership to enhance the patient experienceQualificationsAble to remain focused and calm during stressful situations (high volume of patients that walk in and need to be registered, calling 911 and directing paramedics to patients that must be sent to the ER etc)Experience and familiarity with medical insurance (understanding of costs, deductibles, copays, coverage) preferredComputer skills required; working knowledge or willingness to learn Google Suite mandatory, and must type 30+wpmHigh school diploma or equivalentAt least one (1) full year of direct experience as a medical office receptionist in a fast-paced clinic, hospital, or similar healthcare setting or three (3) years of related customer-service experienceMust be able to multitask effectively; critical time management skills necessaryDemonstrated ability to interact with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance companies alikeExcellent customer service skillsAs a physician-founded and led organization, ensuring everyone has access to quality healthcare is what inspires us.
