At Rocketship Public Schools, we are unleashing potential.The Occupational Therapist will work across multiple (2-4) Rocketship school sites under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of Occupational Therapy. Rocketship's occupational therapists are responsible for providing both direct and indirect support to students, families, and staff members in order to ensure high-quality programming for students, particularly those with disabilities.This role is expected to work 2 days a week (16 hours) and support our two campuses in Concord and Antioch, CA.Key Responsibilities Essential Functions:Lead specialized assessments related to sensory-motor development; write quality, compliant assessment reportsAttend IEP meetings; present assessment findings to the teamDevelop IEP goals and objectives, as well as intervention plansProvide high-quality and evidence based occupational therapy servicesAssist in the implementation of assessment recommendations as neededWork with parents to build knowledge of disability and inclusive support for students with disabilitiesAssist in providing in-service training to parents, teachers, administrators and other professionals and paraprofessionalsAssist in providing consultation and advisement to administrators, teachers, and parents regarding the general and special education programs and supports under the Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), as appropriateAssist in coordinating, communicating and seeking consultation with community agencies as appropriateProvide support and guidance to the organization as a member of the ISE Network Support TeamMaintain a compliant practicePerform other duties as assigned or requested by the appropriate administratorRequired Qualifications:Must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited four year college or university and have a valid license of proficiency in occupational therapy services issued by the California Board of Occupational TherapyExperience working with elementary-age students (preferred)Experience working with students with a range of disabilities (learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, autism, etc.)Excellent written and oral communication skillsEmbrace the mission of Rocketship EducationThrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environmentAbility to be flexible and adaptive in a work environment that is still evolving.Perform a variety of specialized and responsible tasks: maintain records, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, other school personnel, meet schedule and compliance deadlines.Possession of a valid driver's license: willingness to provide own transportation in conduct of work assignments as you will be required to travel from site to site to work with students and faculty at all sitesRocketship Offers:Onboarding supportMonthly occupational therapy department meetings that include an opportunity for each therapist to discuss a case study in order to gain ideas from other therapists to better support their student(s)Weekly coaching calls with direct manager to support interventions, documentation, compliance, collaboration, and planningQuarterly occupational therapy evidence-based practice collaborations$46.05 - $46.05 an hour -$1,000 per school year to for professional development (inclusive of related travel costs) -$500 per school year for therapy suppliesPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
