Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; Science/ Tech undergraduate degree is helpful but not required J.D., Doctor of Jurisprudence from a national law school Experience: 2-4 years related experience Adept at providing commercial legal advice, contract drafting, negotiation and review experience In- -house Corporate or law firm experience required Member in good standing of the NY or NJ state Bar. Skills and Requirements (Custom) Must have the ability to manage large volumes of commercial contract review with consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail. Must be able to advise on a wide variety of legal issues Experience representing non-profit organizations a plus Excellent drafting and negotiating skills, along with excellent business judgment and critical thinking skills. Job Summary: A global professional services corporation seeks two experienced Commercial Contracts Attorneys for a short-term, temporary assignment expected to last three (3) months, possibly longer, in their NYC location. The position is hybrid: three days onsite; two days remote. Expected start date is mid- September. The Temporary Commercial Contracts Attorneywill advise clients domestically and internationally on a wide range of matters, including structuring, negotiating and drafting a variety of general and specialized agreements necessary for the day-to-day operations of a cutting-edge global science and technology non-profit organization. Issues range from commercial legal advice to preservation of the non-profit status of the organization. The agreements include licensing, electronic publishing, IT, and consulting agreements, as well as related commercial agreements relevant to a dynamic business environment. This role functions as an intermediate individual contributor. Salary Range: $80-$90/hr Key Responsibilities Include: Provides advice and counsel, negotiates, and drafts both domestic and international commercial, business and operational contracts Uses and modifies standard forms and templates from a robust internal forms library in the marketing, publishing, education, technical conference and membership operations of the organization Develops and incorporates the implementation of new technology solutions (such as, but not limited to, contract management systems) Provides training on issues relating to commercial law, contract formation and other legal subjects Provides general legal advice to various departments within the organization Collaborates on additional legal projects of interest Raises the profile of the Legal and Compliance Department within IEEE Continuously develops personal and professional skills #J-18808-Ljbffr Justia
