Join a healthcare registration team as a Patient Registration Representative I for a 13-week assignment working part-time day shifts from 5:00 AM 10:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with 25 guaranteed hours per week and no weekends. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and collection of patient financial responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, healthcare registration experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a high-volume healthcare facility or medical office setting required
• Insurance and medical billing experience required
• Medical terminology knowledge strongly preferred
• Strong customer service and phone skills required
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel required
• Typing speed of 45+ WPM required
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment required
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations required
• Driver's License required for travel to off-site locations if needed
• Bilingual Spanish or Mandarin preferred
• Must be able to provide a physical copy of High School Diploma, GED, or higher education if requested

Responsibilities include registering and pre-registering outpatient and inpatient accounts, verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, collecting co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance amounts, updating patient demographics, obtaining required authorizations, processing patient financial information, maintaining HIPAA compliance, answering incoming calls, assisting patients with registration-related questions, coordinating with physicians, insurance companies, and hospital departments, utilizing multiple computer systems simultaneously, maintaining accurate documentation, resolving registration issues, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring efficient patient access to care while supporting operational and financial workflows.
