Worklife Specialist I (Windy City District)

Job Overview The WORKlife Specialist is responsible for developing, defining, and executing the strategy that positions First Financial as ‘The’ community bank for businesses and organizations, providing or expanding financial wellness benefits to their employees/members at no expense to the employer. Key Responsibilities Partner with Retail Banking leadership and the WORKlife Program Manager to execute consumer bank strategies and objectives to attract, retain, and grow core business/commercial relationships in communities. Develop and implement strategies and plans to engage districts and markets, establishing behaviors and routines to achieve success in the WORKlife Program and meeting individual and regional production and growth goals. Manage WORKlife efforts within districts/regions to ensure all WORKlife accounts are onboarded effectively by the champion. Initiate and maintain client and prospect contact through timely and relevant contact strategies. Establish personal sales plans and strategies for assigned districts and regions to achieve success with companies and organizations, following up on leads and campaigns to deepen and win new opportunities. Proactively call on existing and new business owners and key decision makers to establish opportunities that drive new membership to the WORKlife Banking Program, anchored with a core checking account. Partner with commercial, business banking, treasury, retail and other partners to offer the WORKlife Banking Program. Present and discuss the WORKlife Banking Program holistically to companies and organizations, leveraging financial wellness and other partners. Serve as a knowledge leader in the WORKlife Banking Program, organizing and delivering educational offerings, bankstore materials, marketing collateral, presentation decks, products, services, relationship benefits, and all WORKlife‑specific resources. Support the WORKlife Program Manager and Retail Leadership on challenging or complex situations with WORKlife clients, identifying new introductions and opportunities to succeed in every market we serve. Act as liaison and knowledge resource for financial center teams and associates regarding the WORKlife Program, including educational offerings, products, services, campaigns, promotions, and program enhancements. Participate in bank marketing and sales efforts, especially within assigned districts and regions, contributing to initiatives designed to promote the organization’s strategic priorities. Maintain compliance with all bank, loan, and regulatory guidelines and policies, ensuring operational excellence with loans and deposits within the portfolio. Introduce and engage nearby branch teams, specialists, and partners from across the bank as needed to deepen and expand First Financial’s impact on WORKlife companies. Regularly perform group presentations and 1:1 consultations with employees of WORKlife companies and their leaders, educating and presenting First Financial banking solutions—including loans, deposits, wealth, planning, and financial wellness. Function as the company’s point of contact and trusted advisor for the WORKlife program. Lead and participate in huddles within district/region meetings to support sales and service activities across the regions served. Consistently meet or exceed sales goals set by management by collaborating with lines of business to assist clients meet their financial needs. Provide coaching and feedback to bank associates, educating others on activities, successes, and overall performance of the WORKlife Program and future strategies. Hold accountability for district and region performance from a WORKlife perspective, leading local teams through coaching, development and performance management. Ensure adherence to all compliance and regulatory procedures, including but not limited to BSA, Check 21, CIP, CRA, HMDA, Reg B, Reg D, Reg E, Reg CC, Truth in Savings, Privacy Compliance, and the Patriot Act . Cover an entire Windy City district, traveling within the footprint of the district, which stretches from Lincoln Park in the north to Chicago Ridge in the southwest and Olympia Fields in the south. Qualifications 3–4 years of client experience in banking or the financial services industry, working with businesses and organizations or in a retail/business banking role within First Financial. 3–4 years of sales and service experience with a track record of achieving sales and service goals in a retail or business environment. Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in sales (preferred). Strong working knowledge of consumer and commercial banking; deposits, credit, treasury, employee benefit programs, and investments. Demonstrated success with consultative, needs‑based selling. Experience working with senior levels of organizations on strategic planning and execution. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, organizational, managerial, and project‑management skills, with a strong emphasis on presentation skills to small and large groups. Well‑developed customer‑relations skills; ability to influence without authority. Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision, and to work both independently and as part of a team. Preferred Knowledge and Skills Experience with supervisory responsibilities, complexity and scope of high‑impact projects, and advanced decision‑making. Familiarity with financial center operations and cross‑functional collaboration is advantageous. Physical and Travel Requirements Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs (for presentations). Necessary walking, sitting, standing, and driving. Regular travel within the district footprint. Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $58,000 – $78,000 annually.
