Maintenance Manager

Maintenance Manager position within the Purina Animal Nutrition division. The role focuses on improving maintenance processes, asset reliability and capital improvement projects in an animal feed manufacturing facility. The manager leads six maintenance technicians, collaborates with production, and reports directly to the Plant Manager. Responsibilities Day‑to‑day maintenance and reliability of the plant manufacturing systems. Coordinate functions, assignments, and projects of all maintenance staff while supporting team development. Create and maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Provide guidance on troubleshooting and determine methods to minimize downtime and maximize asset utilization. Confirm root‑cause analysis and failure analysis on critical plant equipment. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all equipment, safety regulations, and applicable practices. Manage development and prioritization of facility capital plans in collaboration with the plant manager and engineers. Assist with ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies, including OSHA and EPA programs. Maintain accurate and organized documentation on programs and equipment. Work from elevated heights as required. Assist technicians when needed and possess own hand tools. Possess strong technical aptitude and experience with different computer systems. Lead and motivate employees, working with personnel at all levels. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Continuous Improvement (CI) Processes/Lean Maintenance. Adhere to sanitation and quality policies and procedures, and report any deficiencies. Apply strong PLC and electrical knowledge. Understand maintenance planning and scheduling. Adapt to changing organizational and operational needs and lead others through change. Manage the maintenance department operating budget. Provide project management planning and oversight. Required Experience / Education High school or GED degree. 3+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing setting and with industrial maintenance technicians. Knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, inventory, and scheduling software. Required Competencies / Skills Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with E1 Catalyst and Ariba highly desired. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, prioritizing, and attention to detail. Ability to select, coach, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees. Salary & Benefits Salary: $81,200 – $121,800. In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of the salary range.
