Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials. Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrink. Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to meet their needs. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines. Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise. Check product quality and review "sell by" dates. Properly use kitchen equipment including stove, scale, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe. Label, stock, and inventory merchandise. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping. Understand store layout and locate products for customers. Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions. Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies. Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep logs. Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among staff. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management. Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed. Report customer or employee accidents. Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
