Staff Accountant Salary $50,000 - $65,000

Role Overview
A Staff Accountant is a mid-level accounting professional responsible for supporting financial operations, maintaining accurate records, and assisting senior accountants with reporting and reconciliations.

Responsibilities for staff accountant

• Prepare and Post Daily POS revenue

• Prepare and Post Daily Banking Transactions

• Monthly reconciliations of bank accounts

• Calculate and prepare monthly rebate invoices

• Prepare, record and reconcile monthly credit card statements

• Maintain and reconcile note payables to schedules

• Maintain and record monthly prepaid and accrual schedules

• Work with HR to reconcile Health Insurance and record monthly expenses

• Review payroll journal entries and monthly accrual

• Assist with accounts receivable collections

• Assist with annual audit

• Support Accounts Payable

• Back-up to Payroll

• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SOX controls

Requirements

Qualifications for Staff Accountant

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred

• Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience as a staff accountant

• Experience working with a multi-location company preferred

• Proficient in use of accounting software (QuickBooks, Bill.com, RAMP and POS systems)

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Excellent working knowledge of accounting processes

• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work

• High attention to detail and accuracy
