Medical Receptionist

We are seeking a friendly, organized Medical Receptionist to join our Tesson Ferry office. This role will assist with checking patients in and out, answering phones, making reminder calls, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, sending referrals, and supporting additional front-office tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office environment.

 

Job Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with the check-in and check-out process
• Answer incoming phone calls and route messages appropriately
• Make appointment reminder calls
• Assist patients with scheduling and rescheduling appointments
• Verify and update patient demographics and contact information
• Collect required forms, identification, and verify all information
• Send referrals and supporting medical documentation
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, law offices, and outside medical facilities
• Maintain an organized and professional front office and waiting area
• Assist providers and staff with additional administrative and office duties as needed
• Follow HIPAA requirements when accessing or sharing patient information

Qualifications

• Previous medical office or receptionist experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable answering phones and communicating with patients
• Basic computer and data-entry skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
• Experience with medical scheduling or electronic medical records is a plus
