Accountant

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client's finance team and support their mission. In this role, you will lead core accounting operations, manage grant and fund tracking, ensure compliance with nonprofit financial standards, and maintain the financial integrity of our programs. The ideal candidate brings accounting expertise, a proactive approach to financial management, and a passion for making a meaningful impact in our community.

salary: $48 - $50 per hour

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

Track, reconcile, and report on restricted and unrestricted funds, government grants, and donor contributions in compliance with GAAP and grantor guidelines.

Prepare and post journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Prepare accurate financial statements (Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, Statement of Functional Expenses) and grant-specific financial reports.

Lead preparation for annual financial audits and support the preparation of Form 990, Form 5500, and other regulatory filings.

Oversee accounts payable, receivables, and revenue recognition; review or process payroll and ensure accurate allocation across programs.

Assist in annual budget formulation, program budget tracking, variance analysis, and maintenance of robust internal financial controls.
