This position requires very strong analytical and accounting skills, experience working with large ERP and HRIS software, and ability to work with multiple levels of management.Key ResponsibilitiesHandle the monthly general ledger close process including preparing GL account reconciliations and validations, posting journal entries, processing GL interfaces, variance analyses, payroll wage payment vendor invoice reconciliationAssist senior and senior manager in providing GL mapping and accounting solutions at department and business unit levels Monthly general ledger close process: preparation of journal entries including garnishments, PAC contributions, and other payroll related accruals (US and Europe)Provide back-up support to other payroll accounting team members, GL account reconciliations (e.g. bank accounts, benefits, payroll taxes, other payroll related items), preparing various journal entries, and other ad hoc accounting projects and analysesMaintain Standard Operating Procedures and Desktop Procedures related to the areas of responsibilityConducting GL research and financial analysis for various Business UnitsManage escheatment filing processMinimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):Education/Training –BA / BS degree in accounting or financeBusiness Experience –3-4 years accounting experienceSAP or other large Enterprise Software experience, advanced Excel skillsWorkday system experienceSolid understanding of accounting and financial statements as it relates to PayrollSpecialized Knowledge/Skills –Ability to manage and prioritize various responsibilities with competing, short deadlinesAbility to work with multiple levels of managementVery strong analytical skills and attention to detailCustomer-oriented with strong ability for trouble-shooting and issue resolutionAbility to work independently with minimum supervision as well as in a team-based environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsWorking Conditions:Environment (Office, warehouse, etc.) –Traditional office environment.Physical Requirements (Lifting, standing, etc.) –Large percent of time performing computer-based work is required.We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
