Position Summary

Develop new business and grow selected customer relationships for a Tier One and Tier Two automotive supplier focused on internal-combustion-engine powertrain products. This role combines strategic prospecting, account development, technical customer conversations, RFQ ownership, presentations, negotiation, and long-term relationship management with automotive OEMs and suppliers.

Role Overview

Manage an assigned group of customer relationships while identifying new customers, programs, and market-entry opportunities. The successful candidate will build a strong pipeline, convert opportunities into sustainable revenue, and work cross-functionally to ensure customer requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and grow assigned customer relationships.
• Identify and pursue new customers, accounts, programs, and business opportunities.
• Develop and execute new-business and market-entry strategies.
• Lead customer meetings, presentations, negotiations, RFQs, quotations, sourcing activities, and program-award efforts.
• Build and manage a disciplined sales pipeline and activity reporting.
• Represent the organization at customer visits, industry events, and trade shows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align technical, commercial, and delivery requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Six or more years of relevant automotive or industrial sales experience; five to ten years is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Direct Tier One or Tier Two OEM automotive-industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of internal-combustion-engine powertrain systems and metal components such as cylinder liners, piston rings, castings, forgings, engine parts, braking components, and related products.
• Proven success closing new business and growing accounts year over year.
• Experience with RFQ processes, customer quotations, sourcing activities, and program awards.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Hunter mentality, energy, persistence, dependability, organization, and comfort working independently.
• Stable employment history.
• Experience selling to Japanese OEMs is a plus.

Work Model

• Fully onsite in Romulus, Michigan.
• Candidates must already live in the local area; no relocation assistance is available.
• Domestic and international travel of up to 40 percent, typically closer to 30 percent or less.

PAY

$100,000 - $120,000 per year, plus commission and a $9,000 annual vehicle allowance
