Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations on patients spanning pediatric, adult, and senior populations through standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions spotlighting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, families, and caregivers to establish integrated care strategies.
  • Provide education to patients and families to enhance advancement beyond therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the treatment process.
  • Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping compliant with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Commit to ongoing education and peer collaboration to stay abreast of new developments in the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting.
Skills
  • Mastery of evidence-based treatment methods for all ages, understanding both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Flexibility in adapting therapy methods to accommodate a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment and the capacity to solve problems effectively.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and relevant documentation protocols.
