- Conduct comprehensive evaluations on patients spanning pediatric, adult, and senior populations through standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
- Create tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions spotlighting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, families, and caregivers to establish integrated care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and families to enhance advancement beyond therapy sessions.
- Occasionally participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the treatment process.
- Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping compliant with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Commit to ongoing education and peer collaboration to stay abreast of new developments in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting.
- Mastery of evidence-based treatment methods for all ages, understanding both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Flexibility in adapting therapy methods to accommodate a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment and the capacity to solve problems effectively.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and relevant documentation protocols.
