Empower Communication Across the Lifespan in the Vibrant Heart of the Midwest - Become Our Speech Language Pathologist

Overview

Imagine a career where you have the chance to lend your voice to purpose - and make a tangible difference in lives daily. As a Speech Language Pathologist in Indianapolis, you won't just address communication and swallowing issues; you'll empower individuals, restore self-esteem, and foster deep human connections. From the first words of toddlers to the renewed independence of seniors, your role will be paramount.

This fantastic opportunity allows you to serve diverse populations across the entire lifespan, in a dynamic environment that seamlessly merges outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient responsibilities. Whether you're enthusiastic about engaging with kids on language nuances, guiding adults through neurogenic communication challenges, or assisting seniors with cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, fulfillment and flexibility await you here.

Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations on patients spanning pediatric, adult, and senior populations through standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions spotlighting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, families, and caregivers to establish integrated care strategies.
  • Provide education to patients and families to enhance advancement beyond therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the treatment process.
  • Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping compliant with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Commit to ongoing education and peer collaboration to stay abreast of new developments in the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting.
Skills
  • Mastery of evidence-based treatment methods for all ages, understanding both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Flexibility in adapting therapy methods to accommodate a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment and the capacity to solve problems effectively.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and relevant documentation protocols.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary reflective of your experience.
  • Flexible scheduling that promotes a healthy work-life balance with varied caseloads.
  • Options to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric services.
  • Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay.
  • Robust medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative, team-focused environment centered on quality care and ongoing learning.

A Career That Inspires Growth and Connection

In this position, you will not simply render speech therapy; you will become a pivotal part of a community-driven initiative to amplify voices, enhance communication, and craft moments of joy through the simplest yet most profound acts: understanding and being understood.

Here, you'll collaborate with clinicians who value teamwork like family in a culture that champions collaboration over competition. Every patient has a story, and we trust you to assist in crafting how that narrative unfolds.

Why You'll Thrive Living and Working in Indianapolis

The energy of Indianapolis is contagious, merging a bustling atmosphere with the charm of Midwest hospitality. The city's vibrant culture flows through lively neighborhoods, making it a stimulating environment for both your personal and professional life.

Families picnic in picturesque parks, while outdoor enthusiasts can traverse the many trails, explore local breweries, or spend weekends attending sporting events in this passionate sports town. Culinary explorers can revel in a diverse dining scene, tasting everything from gourmet dishes to classic local fare.

The creative vibrance of the city is palpable, reflected in its street festivals, art installations, and thriving music scene. Moreover, the professional scene is equally promising, with a low cost of living and no state income tax allowing your career to flourish amidst various growing healthcare networks.

Whether you are just starting your career or are an established clinician seeking new challenges, you'll find room to expand both personally and professionally.

Who We're Looking For

We are in search of a Speech Language Pathologist who is inspired not only by results but by compassion. A professional who can envision a nonverbal child's road to self-expression and can recognize the determination behind a stroke survivor's hesitant speech.

You might be a pediatricist looking to branch out into adult therapy or a professional in neuro rehabilitation eager to integrate early intervention in your approach.

Regardless of your specialty, if you are prepared to serve with heart and lead with expertise, we're excited to have you join our team.

Let's Craft Something Beautiful Together

If you perceive speech as more than just sounds, and therapy as more than mere tasks - if you believe in establishing trust before setting goals, and appreciating laughter as much as language - then this could be the perfect opportunity to embark on your next significant career chapter.

Step into a community that cherishes communication, embraces connection, and honors the courage it takes to start over. Apply now and lend your voice to our team - and help others discover theirs.
