Assistant Project Manager-Night Shift

Role Overview The Assistant Project Manager is an entry‑level position focused on learning and developing competency in essential project management responsibilities. The APM provides administrative and construction support for our Project Management team. Responsibilities Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs (Return for Information), and meeting minutes. Oversee project activities as assigned by the Project Manager, including planning, coordinating, resolving problem areas, and ensuring compliance with project policies, procedures, and standards. Maintain change orders, submittals, and document control logs; prepare required logs and other documentation for construction meetings. Prepare contract submittals that are accurate and timely. Create and issue subcontractor contracts. Assemble and deliver the Owner and Maintenance Manuals. Ensure the project quality control plan is followed. Interact with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings for the Owner and Maintenance Manuals. Keep the Warranty Log up to date. Attend company/project meetings with clients and subcontractors and provide project management support. Cooperate with and provide technical assistance to field personnel. Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress. Create Job Information Sheets and establish Job Files. Prepare price change orders and project reports. Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information. Other responsibilities may be assigned as required. Required Skills and Experience Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods. Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others. Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and follow‑up skills. Attention to detail. Excellent organization and time‑management skills. Ability to identify and meet customers’ expectations and requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude. Strong oral and written communication skills. Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player. Professional interaction with all employee levels, vendors, clients, and others. Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field. Minimum one year of experience in a construction‑related role. Combination of training, education, and relevant work experience that is equivalent. Travel Up to 25%. Working Conditions The position is performed primarily on active construction sites, requiring sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted indoors with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is low to medium. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
