Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking an HR Manager in the Reno area to run HR and payroll for a growing mechanical contractor's Northern Nevada operations, supporting office, field, and shop teams across HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, and electrical.
Impact
- Build strong employee relations across a multi-trade workforce.
- Keep the operation compliant with state employment and labor law.
- Set consistent HR standards for field, shop, and office.
- Make payroll accurate for a large, complex workforce.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily HR and payroll operations for the Reno operation.
- Execute HR strategy, policies, and organizational development with leadership.
- Handle investigations, grievances, and corrective action.
- Ensure wage and hour and labor compliance.
- Coordinate leaves, accommodations, and workers' compensation with Legal and Safety.
- Track HR and payroll KPIs.
- Develop HR and payroll staff.
Must-Haves
- HR management experience with payroll oversight.
- Command of employment law for a field-based workforce.
- Experience in construction, trades, or industrial operations.
Nice-to-Haves
- PHR, SPHR, or SHRM certification.
- Multi-state HR experience.
Compensation and Logistics
