We’re hiring a 2nd Shift Tank Trailer Mechanic at our Pasadena, TX terminal to maintain and repair our fleet of DOT cargo tank trailers used to transport petroleum, chemical, and specialty liquid products throughout North America. Whether you’re experienced with DOT 406, 407, 412, MC306, MC307, or MC312 trailers, you’ll have the opportunity to work on specialized equipment in a climate-controlled shop with the tools, parts, and support needed to perform quality repairs. At our Pasadena facility, you’ll find: Climate-controlled shop bays Modern diagnostic equipment and specialty tooling Well-maintained tanker equipment Consistent workload and stable hours A stocked parts department A team that values safety and craftsmanship Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain DOT cargo tank trailers Repair tanker components including valves, piping, pumps, vents, fittings, and loading/unloading systems Perform brake, suspension, wheel-end, ABS, and electrical repairs Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and DOT compliance inspections Troubleshoot trailer air systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed Complete maintenance documentation and inspection reports accurately Maintain compliance with DOT, PHMSA, and company safety standards Requirements Minimum 2 years of tank trailer or trailer maintenance experience Knowledge of air brake systems, ABS systems, suspensions, wheel ends, and trailer electrical systems Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues Valid driver’s license Own basic mechanic hand tools Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check Authorized to work in the United States Preferred HM183 Registered Inspector certification Experience with DOT 406, 407, 412, MC306, MC307, and MC312 cargo tanks Current V, I, P, L, T, or U inspection qualifications Welding and fabrication experience Class A or Class B CDL ASE certifications Hazmat endorsement Experience working for a tanker carrier, tank repair facility, or petrochemical transportation company Benefits Compensation Competitive 2nd shift pay Shift differential on every hour worked Overtime opportunities Annual merit increases Tool allowance Boot allowance Employee referral bonuses Health & Wellness Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical Dental and Vision Coverage HSA with Employer Contributions Supplemental Life Insurance Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Employee Assistance Program #J-18808-Ljbffr Altom Transport
