Health Care Technician II - Adolescents (Broughton Hospital)

Job Overview Broughton Hospital, a regional psychiatric facility in North Carolina, is hiring a Health Care Technician II (S). The role supports mental health nursing staff in delivering skilled care to patients with psychiatric and behavioral conditions. Responsibilities Perform skilled health‑care activities for mentally ill patients with physical and behavioral issues under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Model professional behavior, maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, and facilitate unit‑based patient activities. Execute all Health Care Technician I tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the RN. Accurately document client progress and behaviors in the medical record. Qualifications Current NC Certification as a Nurse Aide I or Nurse Aide II. Experience in direct patient care within a psychiatric hospital is preferred. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with a diverse patient population, family members, and multidisciplinary team members. Conditions and Benefits Optional sign‑on bonus up to $15,000, contingent on budget approval. Mandatory reporting or overnight stay requirement during adverse weather events. Standard work schedule 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with alternating weekends and holidays; 12‑hour shifts available upon request.
