Position Overview Job Title: Health Care Technician I (S) Position Number: (not listed) Grade: MH01 Location: Central Regional Hospital, Butner, NC. Responsibilities Act as a Therapeutic Support Specialist I under the supervision of a Licensed Registered Nurse. Monitor patients and perform technical procedures within the scope of a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA). Obtain vital signs, assist patients with activities of daily living, and maintain patient observations. Follow treatment plans, clinical orders, and observe patients to produce written and oral reports. Assist with behavior management and supportive counseling techniques. Serve as a member of the emergency response team (CODE Blue) as required. Support safe and effective care for patients with complex mental health, substance use, developmental, and neuro‑medical needs. Qualifications High school or General Educational Development diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to perform required physical skills including lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, walking, and climbing stairs. Valid driver’s license. Proficiency in written and verbal English. Knowledge of treatment plans, clinical orders, and patient observation reporting. Experience or education in nursing support, mental health care, or related fields is preferred. Preferred Certifications Advanced Physical Skills (APS) certification through the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). CPR certification within 60 days of hire. Nurse Aide I certification by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification (for continued employment). Employees also receive paid vacation, sick leave, community service leave, and paid parental leave. Compensation & Sign‑On Bonus Base salary range: $31,200.00 – $46,348.00. Recruitment range: $35,360.00 – $46,348.00. Limited‑time sign‑on bonus for CNAs (Nursing Department only): $15,000 total, paid in installments (first paycheck: $4,000; after 12 months: $5,000; after 18 months: $6,000). Bonus eligibility requires a full‑time or permanent part‑time position, 30–40 hours per week. Eligibility restrictions: prior government positions within 12 months, prior receipt of a sign‑on bonus, or receipt of contract placement/recruitment fees disqualify applicants. Work Schedule

1. st Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (5% weekend premium).
2. nd Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. (20% weekdays + 5% weekends).
3. rd Shift: 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. (10% weekdays + 5% weekends).
