Division Central Regional Hospital Position Information Title: Physician (NS) Position Number: 60043961 Grade: MH26 Key Responsibilities Ensuring optimum patient care and medical management of patients at Central Regional Hospital. Qualifications Licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina. Preferred: Thorough knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of general, preventive medicine and of the techniques involved. Thorough knowledge of biological, social, and psychological developmental processes at all ages. Thorough knowledge of the practice and theories of the medical specialty or subspecialty to which assigned. Skill in treating and diagnosing a variety of diseases and injuries in the practice of an applicable specialty of medicine. Ability to assess and interpret laboratory results, clinical data and information relative to the patient's condition. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $147,932.00 - $295,863.00 Sign‑on Bonus: A sign‑on bonus of $20,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 budget approval. Eligibility: a newly hired permanent full‑time or full‑time part‑time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week. Those who work less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate. Employees are ineligible if they have held a position in the state government or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months, have previously received a sign‑on bonus from any state agency, or if DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees. All sign‑on bonuses are contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire. Full‑time position eligible for the full state benefits package including health insurance, retirement, paid vacation, sick, community service leave, and paid parental leave. Other Information Exemption Status: This position is exempt and is exempt from certain provisions of the State Human Resources Act (GS 126). Mandatory: Staff are required to report or stay over during adverse weather events.
