About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Active RN experience in ICU/MICU required. License: Valid state license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Active RN experience in ICU/MICU Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Description: 12-hour shifts available for nights. Schedule requires every other weekend. Floating to other units may be necessary based on need. Patient population includes adults. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1. Common skills and responsibilities include: Ventilator management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade. Arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines management. Blood product administration and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Dysrhythmia interpretation and 12-lead EKGs. Hypothermia protocol, stroke, and neuro care. BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and arterial blood gases (ABGs). Wound vac management, isolation precautions, and infection prevention. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Patient diagnoses may include multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, liver failure, and sepsis. Special procedures may involve continuous glucose monitoring and externalized IV pumps for specific patient needs. Candidates must complete the fingerprinting process as soon as contracted. Two professional references are required, one from a leadership capacity. No coworker references accepted. Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum absence of six months.
