Communications Graduate Assistant

Position Title Communications Graduate Assistant Academic Year 2026-2027 Reports to Assistant Director of Strategy and Marketing Position Summary The Communications Graduate Assistant assists with graphic design, social media management, digital advertising, and related duties. The role reports to the Assistant Director of Strategy and Marketing and is open to current UIW graduate students. Essential Functions Graphic Design: Assist with design requests for the Office of Admissions including posters, flyers, social media graphics, and other recruiting materials. Ensure all designs are consistent with UIW brand guidelines. Utilize Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Canva to create recruiting materials. Social Media Management: Assist in the administration and maintenance of UIW Admissions social media profiles such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Social Media Content Creation: Assist in creating social media content, including captions, graphics, short-form videos, stories, and reels for recruitment. Digital Advertising: Assist with managing and monitoring digital ad campaigns and reporting. Copywriting: Assist with writing and copy-editing content for the Admissions website, emails, and marketing materials. Ensure all information is accurate, complete, and follows the UIW style guide. Website Management: Research UIW Admission and academic program pages to develop and refine website content. Contribute to website updates and report on website analytics. Events: Assist in Admissions campus events and campus tours as needed. Provide excellent customer service. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent writing, public speaking, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Adherence to all applicable rules and regulations of the university, the conference, and the NCAA. Required Education: Current UIW graduate or doctoral student. Required Work Experience: Experience with social media strategy implementation, graphic design, and copywriting. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related fields. Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations: None. Work Hours Monday-Friday, at least 20 hours per week. Physical Demands None.
