Human Resources Generalist

New Iron is partnering with an established global technology and manufacturing company to identify a HR Benefits Specialist to support its U.S. HR team. This role is ideal for an adaptable, employee-focused professional with a strong background in benefits and leave administration who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This is an onsite contract in Syracuse, NY This position offers the potential to transition into a permanent role based on performance and business needs. Key Responsibilities Benefits & Leave: Administer benefits programs (medical, dental, 401k), manage Open Enrollment, and coordinate leave administration (FMLA, ADA, parental leave). HR Operations: Handle full-lifecycle support including onboarding/offboarding, pre-employment screening, and HRIS record maintenance. Employee Support: Serve as a trusted resource for policy, benefits, and procedure inquiries. Compliance & Collaboration: Ensure compliance, assist with reporting, and partner closely with payroll and external vendors. Qualifications Experience: 3+ years in HR (Generalist/People Ops) with 2+ years of hands‑on benefits and leave administration. Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or equivalent experience. Skills: Strong understanding of compliance, excellent discretion with confidential data, and top‑tier organizational skills. Preferred: HRIS experience (Workday, UKG, ADP, etc.), HR certification (SHRM-CP/PHR), and a background in manufacturing, engineering, or tech sectors.
