Empower Lives Through Communication in the Emerald City – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career where you are the architect of connection and understanding, crafting pathways for people to express themselves and thrive. As a Speech Language Pathologist nestled in one of Seattle's most dynamic communities, you will have the privilege of addressing not just communication and swallowing disorders, but also making a profound impact on lives, inspiring both children and adults to enhance their interactions and rediscover their independence.
This role offers the unique advantage of working with a diverse population, from energetic toddlers mastering their vocabulary to seniors working through rehabilitation. You will be immersed in a vibrant atmosphere that combines outpatient therapy and select inpatient support. Each day will bring opportunities to deepen your expertise, whether your interests lie in pediatric development, adult neurogenic challenges, or geriatric therapies.
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for a variety of age groups using recognized assessment tools and behavioral observations.
Design customized treatment strategies that cater to immediate and future communication, cognitive, and swallowing needs.
Deliver dedicated speech therapy services targeting areas such as language processing, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing skills.
Engage in teamwork with interdisciplinary colleagues, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to forge unified care approaches.
Provide education and resources to patients and families, empowering them to support therapeutic gains beyond the clinic.
Participate in infrequent inpatient assessments and therapies, ensuring seamless transitions in patient care.
Document treatment progress and activities in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies.
Embrace ongoing learning through professional development and collaboration with peers to stay abreast of the latest methodologies.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is necessary if the applicant is not already ASHA-certified.
Valid State License as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is desirable.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first month of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based practices across all age groups, with a robust grasp of both developmental and acquired speech and language disorders.
Exceptional communication skills to facilitate effective interactions with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to adjust therapeutic methods to honor diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving expertise.
Comfort proficiency with electronic health records and documentation requirements.
Attractive compensation reflective of your experience and qualifications.
Flexible scheduling to ensure work-life balance while managing varied patient cases.
Possibility of specialization in pediatrics, neuro rehabilitation for adults, or geriatric therapy.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
Health, dental, and vision insurance plans available, along with life insurance options.
Support for continuing education and professional growth.
A collaborative environment where teamwork and quality care are paramount.
A Career That Inspires Growth — and Drives Change
This position invites you to be more than just a therapist; it encourages you to embody an advocate for communication, a crucial lifeline that brings comfort, clarity, and joy to every interaction. You will join a close-knit team that believes in nurturing personal and professional relationships, supporting one another as a family would.
In this role, each client's journey is significant. From the mispronounced words of a child to the hesitant speech of a stroke survivor seeking to express their thoughts — you will be entrusted with the mission to rewrite these narratives.
