We are looking for a Facilities Assistant to assist maintaining a safe and clean environment for all children and staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  

Safety & Compliance

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections.
• Ensure emergency exits, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and first aid stations are accessible and functioning properly.
• Inspect playground equipment for safety hazards.
• Remove potential hazards immediately or report them to administration.
• Assist with licensing inspections and facility readiness.

Daily Cleaning & Facility Upkeep

• Maintain the exterior grounds by removing trash and debris.
• Pressure wash sidewalks and playground areas as needed.
• Clean gutters, entrances, and outdoor play areas.
• Perform deep cleaning projects weekly.
• Assist with room setups and event preparation.
• Maintain storage rooms and maintenance areas in an organized manner.

General Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff.
• Assist with classroom moves and furniture setup.
• Support emergency response efforts when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration.

Required Clearances

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
• FBI Fingerprint Clearance (when applicable)
• National Sex Offender Registry Verification
• Current health assessment and TB screening (as required by state regulations)

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.

Work Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• Hours may vary based on the needs of the program.
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for emergencies or special projects.
