District Sales Manager - Oncology (Sapphire) - Northeast
Amgen Inc
District Sales Manager role overseeing oncology sales across Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York. Responsibilities include managing district teams, tracking marketing initiatives, hiring and developing sales staff, and building relationships with healthcare providers and opinion leaders to drive sales performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage district sales teams to achieve and exceed sales targets and budget goals
- Screen, interview, and hire qualified sales candidates; conduct performance reviews and competency assessments
- Track marketing messages and programs; provide feedback on resource allocation and discretionary spend
- Develop local opinion leader relationships and coordinate with cross-functional teams including marketing and finance
- Conduct district sales meetings and share best practices with direct reports and peers
Requirements
- Doctorate degree and 2 years sales/marketing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years managerial experience directly managing people or leading teams and projects
- Three or more years specialty sales experience preferred
- Experience in oncology and buy-and-bill model preferred
- Ability to understand and communicate clinical concepts and data
- Strong coaching and performance management skills
- Knowledge of local payor coverage and healthcare landscape
